We would like to thank all of the artists and area businesses that made donations in support of our First Friday Las Vegas fundraiser on June 9. The event was hosted by the Downtown Firefly at their location in The Plaza. We also thank everyone that attended, purchased art and silent auction items. The event was a great success. Michael Todoran & Rhoda Lazo are eloping! And, you're invited! Actually, everyone is. They believe that everyone should be able to Love and participate in a celebration of Love and commitment such as getting married which is why this is more than a "regular" elopement or wedding - it is an art performance piece of sort while positively and actively advocating Love for all. Their location will be near California on Casino Center Blvd in the outdoor festival area.

First Friday Trolley

You can park (stops @ Clark County Government Center Amphitheater Main Entrance) and ride the First Friday trolley (goes to Outdoor Festival, Commerce Street Studios, Main St. and Holsum Design Center, see map page on our website for route).

El Cortez/First Friday Express Trolley

The El Cortez Hotel & Casino is sponsoring an Express Trolley. The trolley will take patrons from the El Cortez, 600 East Fremont Street at the Cortez Garden Gateway (with 1,200 free parking spaces in the garage and also valet) to The Funk House Trolley Stop at First Friday (and back again). The bus will run from 6:00 p.m.(starting at the El Cortez) until 10:00 p.m. with the last First Friday stop at approximately 9:30 p.m. Take advantage of the convenient parking and avoid traffic after the event. You can also enjoy the Entertainment District's after parties when you arrive back at the El Cortez.

Be sure to check out our new Cajun menu. For the summer we have sno-cones, ice cream and the slider truck will be here as well. The vendors near the stage will be serving hotdogs, desserts and drinks. Support First Friday, all proceeds from the water and soda booth at Casino Center and Colorado benefit First Friday Las Vegas.

Retro Vegas--Main St. Laura Politzki pieces together parallels between nature and self; drawing inspiration from many sources including Jungian archetypes, spirituality, mythology, folklore and alternative healing practices. She considers herself a Jill of all trades, having been well educated in most art media from fiber art to printmaking. Laura pieces elements of different media into her artwork, at times in a Frankenstein manner. She is determinedly questioning and pushing the boundaries between what is considered "craft" and "high art".

Clark County Govt Center Rotunda Gallery-- "Versus" new work by Leslie Rowland. Exhibit will run from June 1 to July 23, 2010. Versus-War versus peace, right versus left, religion versus science, and civilization versus nature; we live in a world at odds. "Versus" is a body of work presented on furniture and artillery shells, where these issues go head to head. The goal of "Versus" is to find some resolution, truth, and humor in topics that usually bring confrontation.
